Culture of NEPAL
Nepalese have ethnic and diverse culture. A typically Nepali cuisine may
include vegetarian or non-vegetarian food cooked with a variety of spices.
The Newari community has a rich tradition and culture. Folklores form an
important part of their lives and much folklore is enacted in dance. Music
includes variety of instruments with percussions and flutes. There are
songs related to a particular season or festivals. The newars use masks in
dance and have Lakhey dance at least once a year.
Nepali year start in mid-April and it is divided into twelve months. The
country celebrates a mixture of Hindu and Buddhist festivals like Dashai
in autumn and Tihar in late autumn.
